Equilea du Hauty continued her improved form in taking out the more tactical of the heats of the Mares Championship (Prix Marie-Ahn), with Rocker Laidler in the sulky. She would have had more difficulty winning if Catalane du Canet (Steven Williams) had not got shuffled back on the final circuit, flashing home for second. Etolie du Cantal (Adrian Gafa) took the third automatic qualifying place.
