Here is your To-Do list if you will be owning, training, driving/riding or handling a trotter in 2023.

Individuals

1.  Apply for your TROTBritain Personal Licence/s

All licences remain at £40, but rise by £25 from 1 April.

Form Includes application for Associate status.(£20) This is optional but is required to be eligible for all Awards and Events, both national and international. See Conditions.

2.  Register your Horse with TROTBritain (if Unregistered)

This is a once-in-a-lifetime action for a particular horse, to be done in the name of the current Owner/s at the time of registration. If unregistered, register it free before 1 April. £25 thereafter. You must also complete the Flu Vac notification form (see below).

Includes supplying the name of the Responsible Person currently in charge of the Care of Horse and responsible for recording details of any medication administered.

Change of Ownership must be notified to TROTBritain within 7 days. This form requires details of the TROTBritain licence holder to whom Care Responsibility is being transferred.(Note that this is quite separate from the current DEFRA requirement to change ownership with STAGBI.)

Transfer of Care responsibility must be notified within 24 hours. Note that this is quite separate from requirement to notify change of ownership. This form requires details of the TROTBritain licence holder to whom Care Responsibility is being transferred.

3. Update Flu Vac Status (every horse)

If you intend to take your horse to a race meeting at any time in the 2024 season you must submit a Flu Vac status update, including images of passport page (N.B. 6 month schedule is now in place). Free before 1 April, £25 thereafter. (Subsequent updates in 2024 are free)

4.  Pay Initial Season Fee (500 for 5 runs) for a horse, at least 7 days before entries close for its first race.

This form includes providing bank details for payout of prizemoney. Include on a single form only horses where payouts are going to same bank account.
