Two British-bred offspring of Reach de Vandel qualified for the championship event in the three year old Les Juniors. Both inexperienced trotters began the race strongly before green-ness affected each of them.  First it was Icona Plasy (Mike Evans) who got distracted in the second turn and went offstride, losing fifteen lengths to Incredible Man (Joseph Ripley). At this point it should have been race over, but luckily for Icona Plasy, the leader appeared to get a little lost in front and gave away his advantage during the middle half mile. The final half mile of this mile and a half contest was described as a two horse war by commentator Gareth Topham. Neck and neck down the straight at the finish line it was Icona Plasy who took a narrow victory. Both these young trotters will improve over the winter and look like being the early favourites for the 2022 4yo Les Juniors events.
