Paul Mather and Simon Elvin have obviously overcome the early niggles with their newcomer Fakir d’Echal, because Paul was able to send him well clear once he got out, only stable mate Cedre Pierji (Peter Mather) getting closer (6 and a half lengths) towards the end. Paul left it very late in the season to extend his record of at last one winning trotting drive in the last x years (x to be established!) Philip Arnett brought Dorenzo du Houlbet home in third.
