John Henry Nicholson had no worry in taking Diamant de Godrel to sit parked outside Belem de Bertrange in the Ephie Mather Memorial and his confidence was justified. Eliothrope (Andrew Stenhouse) ran a big race to take second In an extremely close finish for the minors, with all the rest in a heap. Coeur de Venise (Rhun Wilson) took third and Calimero Brouets (Mike Evans) showed much improved form in his fourth placing.
