Joe Quinn was determined to exploit the staying power of Europe in the Prix Brough and managed to make all until the 2639th yard, fighting off Equilea du Hauty (Rocker Laidler) only to be short-headed by Falcon de Melleray and Richard Haythornthwaite (about 100 yards behind at the bell and only third on the turn) in a three-way photo.
