Only four horses contested the Sue Williams Memorial FFA over a mile and a quarter, but it produced a stirring finish with Bueno Verderie (Andrew Cairns) just edging out Broadway du Bourg (Joby Randall) by a short head. Birdy Match (Peter Mather) was a very respectable third, given he was returnng from a long lay off.
